Psalm 8:3-9

  1. Introduction
    • God has created us to have divine authority (vs. 5)
    • We are crowned with glory and honour  (vs. 5)
    • We created for dominion (vs. 6)
    • Often we are subject to things instead of things being subject to us (We do not know or have forgotten our position)
      • Taking our situations as our fate
      • These things can be reversed
      • God has planned things for us from the beginning
      • Modus Operandi of man is to operate in dominion
  2. Living in Dominion means
    • Operate at divine level
      • Psalm 82:6 – I said, “You are gods, and all of you are children of the Most High.” (NKJV)
      • John 10:34 – Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, “You are gods” ’? (NKJV)
      • Begin to operate in the extraordinary!  Operate in the spiritual realm.
        • Matthew 18:18 – “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (NKJV)
    • Living above limitations and restrictions
      • Believe you are created in the likeness and image of God
      • Needed to maximize your potential and intellect
      • Limitations:  personal thinking and deficiency
      • Man may be limited, but God is unlimited
      • “For your expectation to overtake your limitation, you need to operate in dominion or else you will be stuck in that position.” – PKO
        • Judges 5:13 – Deborah – Then he made him that remaineth have dominion over the nobles among the people: the Lord made me have dominion over the mighty. (KJV)
    • You can only operate at your maximum when you are living in dominion
  3. Keys to Operating in Dominion
    • Dominion over Sin
      • Sin is a dominion destroyer
      • Romans 6:14 – “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.” (NKJV)
      • Dominion we lost through the first Adam was restored through the second Adam (Jesus Christ)
      • We are operating under the dispensation of Grace
      • Sin is knocking at the door.  Refuse to yield. Psalm 119:133 – Direct my steps by Your word, and let no iniquity have dominion over me. (NKJV)
    • Dominion over Fear
      • Fear is the tool the devil uses to subdue us
      • Proverbs 29:25 – “Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.” (NIV)
      • Fear prevents us from
        • Becoming whom God created us to be
        • Maximizing our potential
        • Stepping into our greatness
        • Leaving your comfort zone – Always believing bird in hand is better than 10 in the forest
        • Operate in your destiny
      • Fear brings torment
        • God wants us to operate in faith; Satan wants us to operate in fear
        • Mark 4:40 – “But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How[a] is it that you have no faith?”” (NKJV)
        • 2 Timothy 1:7 – “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (NKJV)
        • Job feared in Job 3:25 – “For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, And what I dreaded has happened to me.” (NKJV)
