1 Corinthians 1:22 – 24
- Introduction
- People continually seek after worldly wisdom
- We (apostles) seek after spiritual things: truth and understanding of Christ crucified
- You need to understand the truth of God to experience the power of God. When you don’t, you become the victim of the adversary of God.
- The Cross Unifies Denominations
- The Cross (Easter) unifies denominations. Doctrines divide us. Easter (death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ)
- The Cross is Before the Resurrection
- “You cannot embrace the power of resurrection when you oppose the death on the cross.” – PKO
- Redemption comes from the cross, not resurrection (Galatians 3:13)
- The Cross is the Power of God at Work
- 1 Corinthians 1:18 – message of the cross if foolishness to those who are perishing
- Redemption, Love, Friendship at work. Romans 5:8
- Challenge: You must Stand for the Cross by
- Taking a stand 1 Kings 18: Elijah at Mount Carmel. (For how long will you falter between 2 opinions?)
- You can’t sit on both sides of the fence
- Trials are part of the package
- Luke 9:23 – Carry your cross daily and follow Him. (Are you a civilian for Christ or a soldier for Christ?)
- 2 Timothy 2:4: God is looking for soldiers of the Cross
- Are you a fan or a friend of the Cross?
- Fans stick around when the going is good
- Proverbs 18:24 – there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother
- John 15:14 – do what He commands
- Keeping your stand
- Ephesians 6:12 – 13: Recognize you are fighting physical and spiritual battles
- Revelations 2:4, 8, 14; 3:2; 3:8: The churches wavered in their stands for Christ
- Keep your conversion; stay with Christ no matter what comes your way
- “When you keep your conversion, you will be transformed and remain acceptable to God.” – PKO. Romans 10:10
- Keep your confession. “When you keep your confession, your lips will be circumcised and will continually minister grace to very believer.” – PKO
- Keep your conviction. “When you keep your conviction, you run the race to the end and remain a conqueror.” – PKO
- Sharing your Stand
- Continue in fellowship with Christ so His power continues to rest on you and people around you will see the power of God in your life.
- You become the epistle for others to read. Let your life minister to people around you.
- Don’t be shy to speak about the Power of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:4
- It was boldness through baptism of the Holy Spirit that transformed cowardly dicsiples to courageous apostles.

The SORROW of His death has brought JOY to the world.
